Families don't fit into one category. Neither does our support.

Bridges offers a continuum of services tailored to each situation, ensuring children are receiving the nurturing they need while families work toward lasting change.

Respite & Host Homes

When families struggle to provide consistent nurturing — due to mental health challenges, addiction, illness, or divorce — children spend after-school or weekend hours with one of our 150 carefully vetted volunteer families. They share meals and complete homework in this warm environment, returning home at night.

If a child is temporarily unable to live at home, they can stay with a host family until greater stability is restored.

Whole-Family Support

Each Bridges family partners with a dedicated clinician to develop a plan tailored to their needs and goals.

Through weekly check-ins with parents, children, and host or respite families, the care manager monitors progress and adjusts the plan as needed. Our role is not to take over, but to guide — helping families build lasting stability, confidence, and self-sufficiency.

Kinship Care

Whenever possible, Bridges supports children being cared for by relatives. Remaining within their extended family during difficult periods can provide children with familiarity, consistency, and a sense of belonging.

Through the Kinship Navigator Program, caregivers receive practical guidance, connection to financial and community resources, and hands-on support in navigating legal, emotional, and logistical challenges.

By strengthening relatives’ capacity to provide safe, consistent care, we help ensure that these arrangements are viable and sustainable.

Young Adult Services

This selective program serves emerging adults (18–23) preparing for independent living. Participants are matched with healthy families for consistent connection — such as shared meals or time in a steady home — while working with a Bridges clinician to build practical skills and direction.

Designed for those ready to move forward, this program is not a substitute for intensive clinical stabilization, but rather a structured bridge toward confident, healthy adulthood. Involvement is short-term and intentionally focused on strengthening independence.

Bridges HouseAges 18–23

Bridges House is a structured residential setting for young women who are not able to live with their families. A warm 12-bed residence, it looks like any other home from the outside. Inside, residents benefit from a steady adult presence, follow clear routines, learn personal accountability, and develop practical life skills.

These young women receive coordinated support and connection to therapeutic services when appropriate, empowering them to build healthy, independent futures and families.

Collaboration & Community Education

Bridges approaches family instability as a whole-system responsibility. With consent and respect for a family’s dignity, we collaborate with schools, agencies, therapists, and trusted community partners to facilitate cohesive support.

Beyond direct services, we strengthen the broader community through workshops and professional trainings. From school-based sessions on supporting children of divorce to collaborative summits and community forums, we equip educators, clinicians, and local leaders with practical tools to respond early, thoughtfully, and effectively to family disruption.
